Two Masks

You wear your mask,

I wear mine,

You don't tell me how you truly feel,

Nor do I,

We both suffer in silence,


Acting like everything is okay,

Yet, I really need someone,

It's too hard,

I'm overwhelmed,

But, I'm scared,

I'm not brave enough,

You might judge me,

You might not understand,

But, I still need you,

To listen,

To hold me,

To tell me the truth,

To reassure me,

To be my unasked for safe haven.
